Suffice it to say Lou Maiello is getting used to this celebrating business. In October, the long-time golfer got a sneak preview of what it would be like to celebrate his 100th birthday when the Staten Island Senior Golf League (SISGL) honored him during its 30th anniversary gala.
That was just a warm-up, however. Last Saturday, Maiello and his wife, Nancy, were both the center of attention when approximately 60 people showed up to the Silver Lake Golf Course’s Veranda Restaurant to celebrate their respective birthdays. Lou hit the century mark on Monday while his bride will turn 90 this Tuesday.
