When it comes to bocce, you can call it a comeback. The old Italian sport was not too popular on the Island for many years, but Angelina's Ristorante drastically changed that with its own bocce league.
"It started five years ago and what really made me want to do it is I'm a big contributor to Staten Island University Hospital and a good friend of mine, Lou Tobacco, started a bocce ball outing to raise money for the hospital," said Angelina's owner, Vinny Malerba. "What I loved about the sport is it's a very social sport. Anyone can play, you don't need a big skill-set to do it."
