Stop me if you've heard this one: Two Italian-American Roman Catholic sisters are hired to cater an event at a Jewish funeral home, but they don't know the difference between a matzo ball and a meatball, let alone what's Kosher. Cultural disaster, or a recipe for success? You'll see during the Jewish Community Center's CenterStage season opener, Oy Vey! It's the Calamari Sisters!
Creators Jay Falzone and co-collaborators Stephen Smith and Dan Lavender bring the popular sisters, Delphine and Carmela Calamari, to life Oct. 8 through Nov. 1 for their world premiere workshop production, kicking off the JCC CenterStage's 2015-16 season. The sisters will once again sing, dance and cook their way through another comedic concoction.
