The much-renowned opera entitled “Don Giovanni” with music by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be staged at the Rose Theater of Lincoln Center, New York.
“Don Giovanni” is a two act opera that runs on an Italian libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. Premiered in 1787 by the Prague Italian opera at the National Theater, the opera revolves around the folk tales of a fictional rake and seducer, Don Juan. In this opera, set against the backdrop of Seville in the 17th century, the protagonist, Don Giovanni is depicted as a fledging, haughty, and sexually wanton nobleman, invectives and disgraces everyone until he happens to come across something that he cannot slay, strike, escape or get the better off.
