His introduction before home games at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons is the only one that includes a nickname. When it’s announced, ND-BG boys’ basketball senior Lorenzo Cavallaro — sorry; the “Italian Stallion” — can’t help but smile.
“It’s funny,” Cavallaro said. “I’ll take it.” This season, the ND-BG team has had plenty to smile about during its 11-2 start — and Cavallaro has been one of the unlikely sources of strong play for the team.
