Long Road Home: The John Malangone Story

Aug 21, 2016 2029

The Italian American Museum Presents: Friday Night Films. Friday, August 26th, 6:30 P.M. Featuring Long Road Home: The John Malangone Story. Light refreshments will be served

You are cordially invited to attend a screening of Bruce Spiegal's acclaimed documentary, Long Road Home: The John Malangone Story (2006, 55 min.) at the Italian American Museum on Friday, August 26th. This biography details the life of John Malangone, who straddled two worlds as he grew up in his Mafia controlled neighborhood of East Harlem, New York, and, as a baseball player, in the corporate environment of the New York Yankees, the most famous sports franchise in America. Mr. Malangone's rise in the Yankee organization gave him a chance to replace, in 1955, the now famous Yankee icon, Yogi Berra, at the catching position. Following the screening, Mr. Malangone himself will be present, with the director, to answer questions about his life, baseball, and the film.

Friday, August 26th, 6:30 P.M.
