St. Joseph by-the-Sea has named Carmine Cantalino its new girls' varsity soccer coach, Sea athletic director Richard Bruno announced. Cantalino takes over for Kayla Hartley, who replaced Erin Kennedy after accepting the position on Aug. 9.
Hartley, who is active in the U.S. Coast Guard, was recently notified of a pending promotion along with the possibility of re-deployment, according to Bruno, and therefore had to step down before ever coaching a game for the Vikings.
