Casey Gilbert has the unique privilege of playing lacrosse for Team Italy as an Italian American. Italian through her mom and Sicilian grandmother, the Miller Place, NY resident is proud to represent Italy on the international sports stage and will be recognized at the inaugural Long Island Italian Celebration through the Italian American Heritage Society of Long Island.

Gilbert, 18, is a freshman on the Division I lacrosse team at Mercer University in Georgia and plays attack for the U20 Italian National Team. She competed with the Azzurri in the 2023 European Cup in Prague and was in Hong Kong at the U20 World Championships in August.
