The influences seep through, impossible to hide even if Mike D'Antoni is so inclined. Just as so much of his offense, having long since grown from mocked to mimicked, can be seen in the strategies and styles of nearly every team in the NBA, so too can the imprint of every stop along the way brought D'Antoni to Houston.

West Virginia is home, with the gentle, drawl from Mullens never leaving him. But he is as comfortable in Milan, having embraced life in Italy when he mastered Italian and became a dual citizen.
