Thursday, June 6, 2019. 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM CDT. American Italian Cultural Center, 537 South Peters Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. Italian food has taken its spot in the echelons of global gastronomic heritage thanks to the diaspora of millions of emigrants to key spots like New York and Buenos Aires.
Through testimonies from all over the globe, we discover the adaptations that have been made to Italian food abroad, as well as the cultural enrichment that takes place with migratory flows and the clash of traditions. Join us for this fascinating documentary which explores the cultural enrichment fostered by immigration. The documentary is narrated in English with Italian and Spanish conversation interspersed; there will be English subtitles.
