Get a taste of Italy without having to leave the city this month! New Orleans Opera is presenting Tosca, a timeless opera filled with drama, on Friday, September 27 and Sunday, September 29 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Celebrate opening night in style during “A Night in Italy” which includes live music, dancing, espresso martinis, and Angelo Brocato Italian ice outside on the piazza.
For those unfamiliar with Tosca or are new to opera in general, New Orleans Opera’s General & Artistic Director Lila Palmer says that the show is wildly successful entertainment. “Critics have been snotty about Tosca because it’s not out to engage your brain first, it’s after your guts…The only way to describe it is visceral.
