Nico Mannion was not supposed to be home for his birthday. If things had gone according to his plan, on March 14 the freshman guard and fifth-seeded Arizona would have been competing in the Pac-12 title game.
At the very least, he would have been in Tucson with his teammates. But instead, Mannion was back at home with his family in North Scottsdale to ring in his 19th. "It was very simple," his mother, Gaia said. "I felt bad."
