WeDo Academy is the Italian association for youth entrepreneurship education, and as many as three editions of the original and innovative Summer Camp for girls and boys aged 10 to 19 who want to learn about, acquire and experience the entrepreneurial spirit and mindset, better known as Entrepreneurial Mindset, have been planned for 2024.

The first experiential camp was held from July 8 to 12 in Valdagno, in the province of Vicenza (Veneto), and the second in Lecce (Puglia) from July 15 to 19. The third will also be held in Lecce from September 2 to 6.

WeDo Academy is based on the long and recognized experience of Daniele Manni, a longtime professor of computer science and entrepreneurship at the "Galilei-Costa" in Lecce. For more than 15 years, in fact, the Italian lecturer has been incentivizing his students to conceive, implement and lead innovative micro business ideas (startups) to be launched on the real market.

Manni's teaching technique is called "LEARNING entrepreneurship BY DOING startups" and in recent years he has received prestigious awards and recognitions, including international ones, such as the "Global Teacher Award 2020" in India and the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teaching Excellence Award 2020" in Britain and the "GESS Education Award 2023" in Dubai.

The Summer Camp is a 35-hour full immersion full of creativity, innovation and change aimed at 20 very young girls and boys aged 10 to 19. On the one hand, the Camp includes numerous meetings with Inspirational Testimonials (entrepreneurs, startuppers, experts, etc.), who will tell the youngsters their stories of successes (but also of mistakes, failures and failures) in different fields, from technology to tourism, from fashion to agribusiness, from finance to aerospace, etc. On the other hand, real workshops will be held for the conception and development of new micro business ideas (startups) by participants grouped in teams and followed and assisted by coaches and mentors.

Animating the WeDo Academy project is a small group of professionals in various fields, united by the desire to make their knowledge and experience available so that it can be useful for the formation of new skills in young people.

"After more than 15 years in which Entrepreneurship Education was reserved exclusively for students at my school," says Manni, "these fantastic friends convinced and supported me in making it open and usable to all girls and boys who would like to experience what it means to acquire and practice the mindset of an Entrepreneur, regardless of whether or not one later chooses it as a profession in life. The skills that one acquires, such as the predisposition to solve problems (problem solving), resilience, the ability to work in a team, leadership, the ability to handle error and failure, and, above all, confidence in oneself and one's abilities, are very useful and capable of making a difference in any future career path, whether as an employee, a professional, or an entrepreneur of oneself."
