A turn of events made by Pirelli, the famous tire manufacturer group, which has just celebrated its fifty years in the Bicocca hangar, in Milan. For the occasion, Pirelli presented its new calendar, a tradition that has been going on since 1964.

Maybe "new" isn't the right word, considering that it's a calendar made in 1986, but never published. That year, in fact, for a misunderstanding, two calendars were commissioned and then made (but some swear that it was a firm stance by two leaders in contrast among them) between the Italian brunch of the company and the English one.

The first one was realized by Bert Stern in England. It had the upper hand and became the 1986 calendar; while the second, realized in Montecarlo and Chianti by Helmut Newton– who, by the way, left the set before the conclusion - was immediately dismissed.

Now those pictures, kept secret for nearly three decades, have been made public, presented as shots of the new calendar for the year 2014. There are 12 black and white images made by Newton. The protagonists are three models: Susie Bick, Betty Prado and Antonia dell'Atte.

But this still remains a mystery: what happened to the photos presented a few weeks ago, with the six supermodels of the moment (Miranda Kerr, Alessandra Ambrosio, Isabeli Fontana, Alek Wek, Karolina Kurkova and Helena Christensen), made by Patrick Demarchelier and Peter Lindbergh? Will they finish in the archive and then re-emerge in thirty years from now?
