WE THE ITALIANS YEARBOOK 2020

Welcome to the 2020 book of We the Italians!

We the Italians is a network where everybody can share, promote, be informed and keep in touch with anything regarding Italy happening in the US. Our target is not only made by the Italian Americans, but by every American who like Italian people, food, art, culture, fashion, language, music, cinema, sport, business, creativity. We believe that the union between Italy and the US is really the perfect storm, and that is the reason why our name is an Italian tribute to the first three words of the American constitution. Our network is composed by a website, a magazine, a newsletter, an archive of Italian websites in the US and five books: all of them about Italy and/in the United States.
In 2020 we interviewed 27 people, friends of We the Italians, who gave us 23 different points of view on 23 different topics of the relationship between Italy and the United States. These are the topics you'll find in this yearbook: traces of Italy in lesser-known American cities recounted in the book and documentary "Italian American Country"; Italy innovating in Silicon Valley; Italian cuisine on YouTube, between past and future; Slow Wine and Italian wine on tour in the United States; the defense of Christopher Columbus; Italian Americans in Freedomland U.S.A.; Italy in New Orleans and in the South East; how the Marshall Plan and American aid helped Italy to rebirth; the great success of "Il mio viaggio a New York"; Memorial Day and the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery; the Italian American Podcast; Italy in America defending George Floyd in court; the excellence of Italian research in America; an example of Italian leadership among American law enforcement; Italian emigration to the United States after the Second World War; a great Italian in Italian American Chicago; the "Padrone system" and Italian slaves in the United States; Italy in Minnesota; Sports and education to unite Italy and the USA; Zoppè, the wonderful Italian circus in the USA; an Italian American in the Supreme Court; philanthropy and Italian pride in California; the Italian Welfare League, 100 years helping those most in need.Our guests included 15 men and 12 women in 22 single and one multiple interviews. Five of our guests live in Italy, 22 in the United States. They all share a love for Italy and the United States. So you will find 23 interviews, each in two versions, in Italian and in English.

Crediamo che l'unione tra Italia e Stati Uniti sia davvero il perfetto connubio, ed è per questo che il nostro nome è un omaggio italiano alle prime tre parole della costituzione americana. Il nostro network è composto da un sito web, una rivista, una newsletter, un archivio di siti web italiani negli Stati Uniti e cinque libri: tutti sull'Italia negli Stati Uniti.
