This summer, the Brandywine Museum of Art will present the first major museum exhibition dedicated to the exquisite, nature-based works of pioneering American modernist painter Joseph Stella (1877-1946).
On view June 17 through September 24, 2023, Joseph Stella: Visionary Nature will feature more than 80 paintings and works on paper revealing the breadth of the artist’s multi-faceted practice and his complex response to the spiritual qualities he felt in nature. The exhibition was initiated by the Brandywine and co-organized with the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA.
