The Bayonne Heritage Association will host the first annual St. Vito Festival on Saturday, June 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on 5th Street, between Broadway and Avenue C. The event will begin with a procession and prayer over the image of St. Vito at 11:45 a.m. There will be welcoming remarks at 12:00 noon.
The feast honors St. Vito, also known as Vitus, a Sicilian martyr who lived from 290 to 303. “We are looking forward to bringing back the tradition of Italian festivals to Bayonne,” Cindi Sisk-Galvin, Vice President of the Bayonne Heritage Association said, inviting the community to attend and enjoy Italian food and entertainment on the first Saturday of summer.
