The Columbus Day Committee of Atlantic City along with the Bonnie Blue Foundation annually honors Christopher Columbus and celebrates Italian heritage. The Christopher Columbus Commemorative Celebration 2013 runs Thursday Oct. 10 through Monday, Oct 14. A big component of the weekend is the Miss Columbus Day-Miss Atlantic County pageants, being held 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Ventnor Education Complex in Ventnor.

This year the Bonnie Blue Foundation is adding the Miss Southern Counties pageant making the event a true triple crown. All three title holders will move on and have the opportunity to compete for the Miss New Jersey pageant that will be held in June in Ocean City. The winner there will vie for the Miss America title in Atlantic City in September, 2014.
