The Rocky Marciano Lodge 3000 of Sons and Daughters of Italy presented two local organizations with a total of $6,500 from their inaugural casino night fundraiser. On Tuesday night at Fairfield’s VFW Post 7925, the lodge presented Dave Black, captain of the West Essex First Aid Squad, with a ceremonial check for $5,000 and presented Brian Gallagher, VFW post commander, with $1,500.
Black thanked the lodge and said the money will go toward purchasing a Stryker, which will help with the transportation of patients. Gallagher also thanked everyone and said that the post will discuss how the money will be used toward the upkeep of the building to insure the facility looks its best.
