Local and traveling artists will set up work under white tents Saturday morning for the start of Mantua’s street festival, Art on the Hill. Debbie Haylett, an oil painter and embroideress from Mantua, will arrange paintings, wine coasters, embroidered T-shirts and personalized stuffed animals and portraits along Prospect Street.
"It is special for me to be a part of Art on the Hill," she said. "It’s just a very fun event. They make it feel very welcoming and it’s a homey kind of atmosphere." "I personalize stuffed animals and that’s been very popular. I’ve started doing little portraits of the animals. They can be personalized for the baby’s room. That’s a special thing to me."
