The eighth annual Festa Italiana is expected to draw a much larger crowd this year due to the Republican National Convention taking place in Cleveland starting on July 18. The festival will run from July 15-17, at Falls River Square, which is located on Riverfront Parkway and Front Street near Broad Boulevard.
"We believe this year will be one of the more crowded festivals," said Rick Sabo, Chairman of Festa Italiana. "We're expecting a much larger crowd because there will be tons of people in the area for the Republican National Convention. We're hoping the festival can give those people in town a bit of a break by providing them with a fun night filled with entertainment and wonderful Italian cuisine." Republican National Convention delegates from the state of Michigan are planning to stay at the Sheraton Suites on Front Street, which is within walking distance of Festa Italiana.
