Loretta Paganini grew up in Bologna, considered by many to be the breadbasket of Italy. In the north of the boot-shaped country, its rolling farmland has many crops and is the home for Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, Balsamic vinegar and many other products known the world over.
Paganini's mother was a longtime professional cook, often appearing on television and in newspaper and magazine stories about the dishes she created. So Loretta grew up learning to cook and took part in the process from the time she was a little girl.
