A sculpture brought in from Italy for the 2016 Eaux Claires Festival is finding its permanent home in downtown Eau Claire. The project named Baroque is a massive wire sculpture that held an organ during the Eaux Claires Festival last year. The sculpture valued around $250,000 will be permanently assembled on a wooden platform right next to the Chippewa River.
It doesn’t look like much yet, but the sculpture, once put together, will be a massive structure. “At the end of the festival, it was a shame to have to tear it down and we got a call to find out if we’d like to accept a donation to the community of Baroque,” Linda John with Visit Eau Claire said. “A lot of different groups and organizations put our heads together and figured out how to make that happen.”
