One of Italy’s most revered pianists will be performing at Symphony Center this month, and the CSO is offering the Chicago-area Italian-American community a special discount to attend. Maurizio Pollini will showcase a prelude, barcarolle and sonata by Chopin and a series of preludes by Debussy at 3 p.m. on April 20.
Noted for his performances of Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Schumann and Brahms and for championing modern composers, Pollini has earned awards and accolades around the world. “Exquisitely wrought and flawlessly delivered. By the time [Pollini] reached his second encore he was playing like a god,” The Independent wrote of a recent concert in England. Community members can take advantage of a 40 percent discount on tickets to the concert by clicking on the link below and typing in the promo code POLLINI.
