Local festival celebrates 50 years

Early in the day Friday the streets of Clinton were pretty calm. The final touches were being put on this year's Little Italy Festival. They're celebrating 50 years of this festival. Something Lynell McCracken with LIFT says is a tradition they love to celebrate.


"I think it's a great time to support the Italian heritage and kind of remember the Italian heritage," McCracken said. "Most of the stuff that put Clinton on the map was the Italians coming and immigrating here to work in the coal mines." You don't have to be Italian to take part in this weekend's festival, but the Italian culture is definitely in the air.
