The holidays are the perfect time to enjoy a traditional Italian cold-weather drink: VOV, a delicious egg-based beverage infused with Marsala wine. Born in the city of Padova in 1845, the drink quickly gained scores of aficionados in Italy and abroad, due to its delicate taste and energizing properties.
On Thursday, December 3rd from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, ICC instructor and Italian native, Mirella Heimpel will guide you through the VOV making process. Mirella will also talk about the origins and cultural background of this beverage. Participants will sample the drink, enjoy Italian Christmas music and treats and take home a bottle of their own VOV!
The class will be held at the Italian Cultural Center. All ingredients will be supplied, but please bring your own eggs: we recommend that you buy 6 large pasteurized eggs (found at most grocery stores). This beverage is made without preservatives or coloring additives.
Please note: VOV is an alcoholic drink and participants must be over 21. Space is limited - Register now!
