"When I think about how much work planning this event is, I just think about how hard my mom worked just to make it," says Eddie Bolva, executive director of Festa Italiana Minnesota.
Eddie is the guy pulling all the strings behind the scenes of Minnesota's Largest Celebration of Italian culture. He is a retired cop and former U.S. Marine who grew up in St. Paul and for the past 25 years has been an umpire for the local little league. To Eddie, Harriet Island is going to be the Italy he's always dreamed of visiting. "I've actually never visited Italy, but as an Italian-American—you almost don't have to," says Eddie.
