Anyone who's traveled through the center of Guilford at various times in the past year or so cannot have missed the purple emblazoning its churches, schools, and businesses. With its popular Italian Festival on Friday night, Aug. 26 and all day Saturday, Aug. 27, the St. George Men's Group will do its part to highlight Project Purple, an effort to raise awareness that a quaint colonial town on the Shoreline isn't immune to the opioid epidemic sweeping the nation.
All proceeds from the Festival, which will feature live music, food, and games on the grounds of St. George Church in Guilford, will be divided between two local organizations involved in ¬confronting the scourge of alcohol and substance abuse.
