The town of Branford goes all out for Columbus Day weekend which takes place this years from October 12-14, with Monday, Oct. 14 as the designated holiday.
Columbus Day Committee secretary and publicity chair Magdalen Sparaco said they have a wonderful parade planned filled with bands, floats, vehicles, and more. The governor, lieutenant governor and state officials will take part in the march.
"The parade is the longest and best presented with over 130 units marching to the celebration," said Sparaco. The parade's origins began in New Haven to promote Italian heritage, she noted.
