This year, the Italian American Alliance will again host a Columbus Day Italian-American Cultural Celebration on COLUMBUS DAY, Monday, October 14, 2024 from NOON to 4:00 P.M. The Tall Ship Park is located at 1 East Pier Drive in East Boston, Pier 1. It is a short walk from the Maverick Square MBTA Station in East Boston. The venue offers a magnificent view of the Boston skyline.
Sponsored by the Italian American Alliance and the National Italian American Federation for the past three years, the event features Italian food and pastries, raffles, vendors, and children’s activities and Italian music. Special musical performances by Steve Savio and Allen Labella, a native of East Boston. The event is free, and all are welcome. There is valet parking available ($ 20).
“This Columbus Day Celebration at the Tall Ship Park carries on the tradition of Columbus Day in Boston”, said Jim DeStefano, President of the Italian American Alliance. “It’s notable that ordinary people of Boston, on their own, have brought the Celebration of Columbus back to Boston. Christopher Columbus was significant in American history and is model of courage and persistence to many Americans, particularly Italian-Americans.”
