The Torrington Chapter of UNICO National and Torrington officials will honor its Italian Mayor of the Day, Art Mattiello, Oct. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Coe Memorial Park Civic Center. The public is welcome to attend the chapter’s Columbus/Mayor of the Day celebration.
Chris Cogliano will play the National Anthem, followed by an invocation from Father Emmanuel of St. John Paul the Great Parish, and a presentation by state Rep. Michelle Cook, D-Torrington, of a proclamation declaring October Italian American Heritage Month. After Mattiello recevies citations, he will present a 25-year pin to Jeff De Michiel and Jonathon De Michiel, for their distinguished years of service to the UNICO organization.
