The Italian Cultural Institute of Louisville, Inc. (ICI) is presenting the seventh annual Carnevale Celebration on Tuesday, February 12, 6:30-9 p.m., at the Louisville Boat Club, 4200 River Road, Louisville. Guests are encouraged to wear masks or costumes to experience the magic of Italy's famous celebrations. Carnevaleis open to the public for $20 per person, OR $15 for ICI members.

This colorful event includes musical entertainment by the Louisville Mandolin Orchestra. A wine bar and antipasti will prepare the palate for the dessert tables filled with a wondrous array of treats straight from "nonna's" secret recipes.
A special guest will be Paola DeMarco, the Fashion Institute of Technology (NYC) student who won ICI's new $1,000 Carnevale Costume Design competition. Ms. DeMarco's design is being used to advertise Carnevale and as the centerpiece of a limited edition of mini posters and other products that will help support ICI projects.
Ms. DeMarco has a Minor in Art History and Italian and intends to obtain a Bachelor's degree in International Trade and Marketing. She plans to intern abroad next summer and ultimately to start her own design company.
"The people and the vibrant cultures around the world are what most inspire me," she said. "By studying International Trade, a designer is exposed to a fascinating new aspect of the industry and the apparel manufacturing world!"
