On Monday, April 13 at 12 noon the staff of the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum and the faculty and student-interns of Staten Island Technical High School will jointly lay a wreath at the Antonio Meucci Monument (420 Tompkins Avenue, Staten Island) in memorium of Mr. Meucci's 108th Birthday. The event also marks the beginning of a partnership between the Staten Island Tech and the Museum.
The new project will engage the brilliant faculty and student of Staten Island Tech in a project that will have the inventor's notebook and drawings reverse engineered into three-dimensional models to become a permanent, interactive display for the museum.
These brilliant students will recreate history and be forever known to the community as the leaders and innovators of the future.
This new partnership has the potential to expand to future endeavors. And other high schools in the region will also be engaged in future projects.
Please join us to celebrate this historic occasion.
