Discover never-before uncovered treasures at renovated Garibaldi-Meucci Museum ... and learn Italian too

After extensive research, discovering artifacts and uncovering items stored in the basement of the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, the 1849 Gothic Revival cottage that once served as the home of inventor/candle maker Antonio Meucci in Rosebank, a more complete story has been revealed about Meucci and General Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian revolutionary and political leader who lived there in the 1800s.

Handcrafted clothing from the 1880s and furniture from that period has surfaced. Artwork that was created to honor Garibaldi has also been unveiled as was interesting paperwork that came from years of files were written by previous researchers, enabling curators to rewrite the narratives of both Garibaldi and Meucci.
