Marty Pietanza brought a lot of light to this borough. This weekend, his community has a chance to shine some back on him. "Mr. Lights" was well-known throughout Staten Island for his dazzling Halloween and Christmas decorations at 580 Wolley Ave., which was often featured in the Advance as the location of one of "the most festive displays."
Marty died in his sleep at his Willowbrook home on March 26. He was 49 years old. His family, still healing from the sudden loss, is inviting everyone over to celebrate his memory at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 16. "With Father's Day approaching, we would like to truly honor him with a vigil in front of the house, with candles, balloons, lanterns and a dove release," said Justine Brown, Marty's daughter.
