Ask any Staten Islander to think of women who have made a difference in the lives of borough residents in the fields of business, academics, cultural, and civic life. I'll bet there is one name that will probably make the list of many: Doreen Cugno, president, CEO and co-founder of the St. George Theatre.
Sen. Andrew Lanza recently honored Doreen for her outstanding work in the community by naming her a "Woman of Distinction" in a special ceremony in Albany. "Doreen Cugno is a truly remarkable person whose extraordinary efforts and contributions to the arts bring great pride to all of Staten Island," Sen. Lanza said.
