The Italian American Heritage Society chapter of Birmingham, Al. takes pride in announcing the Vulcan Park & Museum has chosen to feature the Italian Immigrants of Alabama as their up and coming exhibition. Our Italian ancestors chose this beautiful city to call home in their new country America. What a fitting tribute to our ancestors and to the members of their families, as well as Giuseppe Moretti the sculptor and architect of the iron god of steel.
The IAHS has been choose by the Vulcan Park Museum to gather and assist them in compiling artifacts, documents, stories and etc. to be featured in this exhibition. The goal of our organization is to establish an Italian American Museum in Birmingham, Alabama, what better way to begin than with the assistance of the Vulcan Park Museum.
The exhibition will run October 2014 through September 2015. The IAH Society will be gathering information from the families of these brave immigrants in the coming months. In the meantime, please spread the news to all family and friends of Italian heritage with roots in Alabama and go to our website www.iahsofbirmingham.com and see what we are all about. The only requirement to join is that you must be of Italian heritage and all spouses who are not of Italian heritage are welcomed.
