This year we have scheduled several classic Festa events including the mass and reception at St. Philip Neri Church, the bocce tournament at Club Paesano, and Italian movie night at the 5th Avenue Cinema downtown.

See our website for more details at www.festa-italiana.org We also are in the middle of planning a smaller one-day festival event later this fall, and we will announce details as they become available.

We hope to try out a few new ideas and concepts at this fall event, and expand on those in future years. Our 30th anniversary is coming up in 2021, and we are looking forward to having a great event in place for that important date.

Over the years we have had literally thousands of people help us put on the Festa including board members, sponsors, and many many people who volunteered at the event. We appreciate all of their efforts because for the board and for me this festa is a labor of love. For us, it is a chance to honor the memories of our Italian fore bearers who came to this country to create a new life for themselves and their families and along the way helped to build Portland into a great city.

To take on the task of retooling our beloved Festa is both a great honor and a great challenge. But it also is an opportunity for us to reach out to our friends and supporters in the community and invite them to join us in this wonderful work. Please join us.
