Italian-owned confectionery firm Ferrero USA revealed plans recently for a $9 million project that will add 67,000 sq ft of space to its Somerset, NJ industrial plant and create about 100 new seasonal jobs.  Ferrero, the maker of Tic-Tacs and Nutella, has invested about $12 million in the Somerset site since 2016 as part of its launch of Kinder Joy, an egg-shaped chocolate product that holds a toy in its center, in November 2017, according to a company press release announcing the investment.

The company will use the new space for packaging and warehousing operations. “We are proud to do business in Franklin Township, and we’re thrilled to be expanding our existing operations here,” Paul Chibe, chief executive officer of Ferrero USA, said in a statement. “This renovation demonstrates the ongoing commitment Ferrero has to doing business in the state of New Jersey, and we’re confident this will continue to be a successful partnership for us all.”
