Labrenta selected Jersey City in New Jersey as the location for its new office due to its proximity to New York City and to whiskey-producing states such as Tennessee, Wisconsin, Kentucky and North Carolina. The site was opened at the end of 2020 and has two sales employees, with more workers to follow.
Labrenta also opened the US office due to the owning family’s historical connection to the States. Francesco Tagliapietra, grandfather of Labrenta owners Gianni, Amerigo and Franca Tagliapietra, headed to the US in 1915 to build his fortune. After the First World War, Francesco Tagliapietra went back to Wisconsin, where he founded a small spirits distillery.
