Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari. Those names stir the hearts of auto lovers everywhere, conjuring up sleek, speedy sports cars that combine the best of Italian engineering, design and style. Fans will have the rare opportunity to see a line up of these masterpieces of the motorway at the Made in Italy Italian Show & Festival Sept. 13 on Franklin Avenue.
And it won't just be luxury vehicles or even cars. The show will feature 50 to 60 Italian-made cars, scooters and bicycles, everything from showy Ferraris to humble Fiats, organizer John Paul Di Grazia said."People are going to be able to see some cars that are unusual and different," Di Grazia said. "It's really the only show of its kind." The event is free and will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the 500 block of Franklin Avenue in the heart of Hartford's Little Italy. The festival will also feature Italian music and food as well as Tarantella and other dance performances.
