Silicon Alley: some recipes for Italy?

Jun 08, 2013 1217

New York tech startups are the most vibrant and growing industry in the city. The startup community is a story of entrepreneurs creating successful companies and reinvesting their time and money into the next generation; it is the story of academia, investors, corporations and the local government coming together to feed the tech ecosystem; and it is the story of the bet made by Mayor Bloomberg to diversify the local economy after the Great Recession. Can it be an inspiration for other cities and countries, including Italy?

Panel discussion with:
Maria Teresa Cometto and Alessandro Piol, authors of "Tech and the City. Startup a New York. Un modello per l'Italia"
Maurizio Arienzo, president and CEO of Nova Ware
Craig Gotsman, Director of Technion-Cornell Innovation Institute
Carlton Vann, Director of Division for International Business, NYC Mayor's Office for International Affairs
Moderator: Vito Racanelli, Staff Writer, Senior Editor at Barron's, a financial weekly published by Dow Jones
