The Arthur L. Johnson (ALJ) High School Italian Club, advised by Ms. Alessandra Bonacchi, helped the Tifosi Napoli Club New Jersey raise over $700 to support an open-space library in Forcella, Napoli. The club has held Nutella bake sales after school and a district-wide jeans day to help raise money. The library was built in memory of Annalisa Durante, who tragically lost her life at 14 years old.
In addition to donating the funds, an ALJ student, Eva Venturino, and Ms. Bonacchi created an illustration showing the connection between Napoli and America. Italian Club members all signed their names to it. The canvas and donation were presented to the president of the Annalisa Durante Foundation and Annalisa’s father on what would have been her birthday.
