Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr. partnered with the American-Italian Cancer Foundation to host a free mobile mammogram event outside his Middle Village Office on October 13, 2024, in commemoration of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some 21 women received a mammogram during the 6 1/2-hour event.
Mammograms can detect breast cancer at an early stage, often before symptoms appear. This early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and survival. Regular mammograms serve as a screening tool to help identify abnormal growths or changes in breast tissue.
