On May 3, the Association of Italian American Educators (AIAE) presented Garden City High School senior Christina Levi with the Mario Cuomo Memorial Scholarship. Christina is among a select group of eight Italian- American students from the tri-state area who have demonstrated excellence and commitment to the Italian language, making them recipients of the Programma Ponte in Pisa.
This distinct award gives students the opportunity to follow a two-week course of study and fully immerse themselves in the Italian language and culture, while staying with a host family in Italy.
