On April 9, the U of A chapter of Gamma Kappa Alpha, the national Italian academic honor society, held its annual initiation ceremony.  The chapter congratulates the nine new student members: Juan Carlos Esquivel Monroy, Leah Foster, Michelle Kamanga, Emily Lawless, Jordyn Moore, Claire Phelps, Adriana Tredway, James II Sterling West and Grace Wilson. The Gamma Kappa Alpha faculty adviser is Ryan Calabretta-Sajder.

The Gamma Kappa Alpha National Italian Honor Society is a society formed to acknowledge superior scholastic performance in the field of Italian language, literature and culture and is open to membership at institutions of higher learning in the United States and Canada.
