When Modesto closed last month after a 15-year run, owner Brendan Marsden had already announced that he would open a new concept in the restaurant's space on the Hill (5257 Shaw Avenue), and that this new concept would involve pizza. Yet another Italian restaurant on the Hill? Not exactly.

As Marsden first revealed to St. Louis Magazine, that new concept, Mona's, is an "American-Italian"restaurant.

"It's definitely not Italian-American like what you'll find at the other restaurants on the Hill or St. Louis really," Marsden tells Off the Menu.
