Too tired to cook for your own dinner party? Lena’s Italian Kitchen, which serves up home-cooked meals you can (shhhh!) pretend you made, is opening a second location on the Upper East Side at 1167 Second Ave., between 61st and 62nd streets. The 900-square-foot space is takeout and delivery only, with four stools where folks can sit while waiting for their orders.
It is slated to open this fall. The first location is an 1,100-square-foot space at 551 Second Ave. between 30th and 31st streets in Kips Bay. Eastern Consolidated’s Joe Robinson arranged the 10-year lease on behalf of owner Paul Nicotra, the grandson of Louis “Gino” Branchinelli, who founded the popular brand of Gino’s Pizzerias and Gino’s Italian Ices after immigrating to the US in 1937.
