Tony Iannacito, better known as Tony of Italy, has been styling hair for more than half a century. Tony of Italy, located at 117 Fourth St., has been in business for 45 years, and is a staple in the community. Iannacito's lifestyle of cutting and styling hair is one he loves, and has loved for the past 52 years. Born in Roccasicura, Italy, Iannacito came to America with his father on Dec. 7, 1955, at 16 years old. They lived with a relative in Troy on Fifth Avenue, and two years later the rest of the family followed.
After working in factories in both Troy and Cohoes as a young man, "I saw that there was no future in those places," Iannacito said. "So I decided to go to a hairdressing school," he said, where he knew would find a more promising and fulfilling career. "I wanted to do something for myself to create a better future."
