The Silk Stocking District might need to be renamed the Delicious Sandwich District. The latest entrant to the specialty lunch market, La Panineria, officially opened at 322 East 81st St. on Feb. 8, and they're offering a special deal for Upper East Siders eager to try out the new spot. For the entire opening month, La Panineria is giving customers 20 percent off all of their sandwiches.
Popular offerings include their burrata sandwich, a pile of organic burrata, prosciutto di parma, organic tomatoes and arugula, and extra virgin olive oil, the Diamate sandwich, which boasts spicy alame, provolone and olive oil, and the capri sandwich, with mozzarella, tomatoes, basil and olive oil.
